Emma Loynes to lead Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa region as Scott Galloway steps down in New Zealand

Lloyd’s has promoted Emma Loynes to CEO of Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), succeeding Chris Mackinnon.

Emma Loynes

Loynes joined the Lloyd’s re/insurance market in 2018 as senior manager market oversight and delivery.

She became head of market development transformation in 2021 and was appointed CEO Lloyd’s Asia and country manager for Singapore in 2023.

She will retain her role as country manager for Singapore alongside her new regional remit.

Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Loynes spent more than 22 years with insurer RSA, most recently as UK regions operations director, RSA Commercial.

Dawn Miller, chief commercial officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, said: “I am pleased to confirm Emma Loynes has been appointed CEO of Lloyd’s APMEA, succeeding Chris Mackinnon in leading the region.

“Emma brings significant experience and capability, and I am confident the region will continue to thrive under her leadership.”

Miller added: “Emma will retain her role as Lloyd’s Country Manager for Singapore. I would like to extend my thanks to Chris for his leadership and expertise over the last decade and wish him well for his next chapter.”

Lloyd’s also confirmed that Scott Galloway has stepped down as its general representative in New Zealand after 25 years with the market.

During his tenure, Galloway guided Lloyd’s through periods of regulatory change and supported the growth of its New Zealand business.

He will remain involved as a member of the Lloyd’s Australia board and as chair of the NZ sub committee.

Simon Wilson assumed the role of general representative in New Zealand on 1 January 2026.

Wilson previously worked for Lloyd’s in regulatory affairs and the performance management directorate in London from 2014 to 2021, and supported the APMEA region on strategic projects during 2025.

He has also held roles at Farmers Mutual Group as regulatory affairs manager and at The Hollard Insurance Company Australia as country manager and head of Hollard NZ.

Tracey Bryan, regional manager for Australia and New Zealand at Lloyd’s, said: “Scott’s contribution has been extraordinary. He’s guided Lloyd’s through periods of significant regulatory change and built strong relationships with key regional stakeholders including RBNZ, FMA, MBIE and ICNZ.

“Scott’s leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark, and we have truly valued having Scott as part of the team. I thank Scott for his outstanding service and welcome Simon to this important role,” she added.
