The ex Munich Re executive will join QBE International early next year to lead reinsurance strategy across the UK, Europe and Asia

QBE has appointed Alistair Nappin as head of outward reinsurance for its international division.

Nappin (pictured) will join QBE from Munich Re, where he is currently head of ceded reinsurance and chief underwriting officer of underwriting strategy for its Global Specialty Insurance division.

He brings nearly 20 years of insurance experience to the role.

Nappin will be based in London and report to Stephanie Cryer, chief underwriting officer for QBE International.

In his new role, he will be responsible for shaping and delivering QBE’s reinsurance strategy across the UK, Europe and Asia.

He is expected to join early next year, subject to regulatory checks.

Cryer said: “I am delighted to welcome Alistair to QBE.

“His deep experience and expertise will be a tremendous asset to our team, and I look forward to the contribution he will make to our continued success.”
