London-based underwriter Toby Marshall steps up to lead Swiss Re’s sovereign credit and political risk insurance business, reporting to Veronica Assandri Foldnes
Swiss Re has appointed Toby Marshall as global head of sovereign credit and political risk insurance.
Marshall has been a senior trade credit and political risk underwriter at the reinsurer since 2020.
In his new role, he will continue to be based in London and will work with clients across Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ sovereign and trade portfolios.
His remit includes multilateral lenders, commercial banks, corporates and trading firms.
Marshall will report to Veronica Assandri Foldnes, who became global head of commodities, trade, sovereign and political risk insurance at Swiss Re in June.
Before joining Swiss Re, he held underwriting roles focused on credit, political and financial risks at ArgoGlobal and Aegis.
The appointment reflects Swiss Re’s continued investment in its global political and credit risk franchise, the reinsurer said, which serves financial institutions and corporates involved in cross-border trade and infrastructure.
