Oklahoma tornado May 20 2013

At least 13 people have been killed and hundreds injured by a huge storm system that swept through the US Midwest. The system caused a series of tornadoes, with the largest striking near the Oklahoma town of El Reno.

Schools, homes and offices have been damaged and in Missouri and Iowa there are flood warnings.

The storms follow the massive EF5 Moore tornado two weeks ago, which killed 24 people and caused insured losses of up to $3.5bn, according to RMS.
