Aon’s global broking operations see growth recover in fourth quarter

Aon’s insurance broking operations reported adjusted operating profit rose to $2.28bn in 2017 from $1.97bn in 2016.

Reporting results for its global operations, the US insurance giant said its broking operations, called Commercial Risk Solutions, saw revenues rise to $4.16bn from $3.93bn a year earlier.

Commercial Risk Solutions saw organic revenue growth of 5% for the fourth quarter, recovering from slower growth earlier in the year, which meant organic growth for the year as a whole was 2%.

The group said the division saw strong growth in US retail and solid growth internationally, led by the Asia and Pacific regions, as well as new client wins in the captive management business.
