Images represent the maximum boundaries of the area flooded over the past three weeks

German flood

PERILS has released satellite-based aggregation images of the floods that affected Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.

The aggregated flood footprint represents an initial view of the maximum boundaries of the area flooded during the past three weeks. A final maximum flood extent image of a higher resolution, which will factor in additional information including image interpolation procedures and ground validation data, will be released at a later stage.

The satellite-based flood footprints can be viewed and downloaded free of charge from the PERILS website
