Hong Kong-based executive brings more than 34 years of insurance experience across China and the US

Aon has appointed Joe Liang as executive chairman of Greater China for reinsurance, effective immediately.
Liang (pictured) will be based in Hong Kong and report to Rupert Moore, CEO of Asia Pacific for reinsurance at Aon.
Aon said Liang brings more than 34 years of insurance industry experience across China and the US.
In the role, he will support the reinsurance broker’s capabilities across Greater China, helping to deliver insights and support business decisions for clients.
Aon said Liang will help strengthen its offerings, enable innovation and drive growth across the region.
His appointment reflects Aon’s continued investment in supporting insurers and reinsurers across Greater China with global perspective and local market understanding.
Aon said the team will continue helping clients identify opportunities, address emerging risks and strengthen business performance under Liang’s leadership.
Before joining Aon, Liang held senior leadership positions across underwriting, reinsurance, risk management and actuarial functions in China and the US.
His previous roles include executive positions at SAIC Insurance and Ping An P&C Insurance Company.
He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a fellow of the Chinese Actuarial Society.
