Aon has appointed Mike Reid as its EMEA CEO of facultative reinsurance, effective 1 July 2026.

Reid will be based in London and succeeds Nick Fraccalvieri, who led Aon’s facultative business in EMEA for three years and was appointed global CEO of facultative reinsurance in March.

Reid (pictured) will report to Tomas Novotny, EMEA CEO and international chairman for reinsurance at Aon, and to Fraccalvieri as part of the global facultative leadership team.

Aon said Reid will build on the existing EMEA facultative platform and focus on delivering solutions that support better capital decisions for clients.

Novotny said: “We place a strong emphasis on hiring talent that continues to differentiate Aon in the marketplace, drives momentum for our business and delivers client value.

“Mike is a great example of this approach, and we are excited to have him lead our EMEA Facultative Reinsurance team.”

Reid joins Aon from Sompo, where he was head of UK property and casualty.

He brings nearly 30 years of insurance market experience.

Aon said Reid has led underwriting teams and portfolios across UK commercial insurance, as well as international wholesale and specialty lines.

Reid said: “Aon is a recognized leader in the Facultative sector and this role is a compelling opportunity to apply my experience and relationships to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

“I consider it a privilege to be joining such an established and successful team,” he added.
