Everest has appointed Stephen Buonpane as global head of construction within its Global Wholesale and Specialty business.

The re/insurer has also promoted Danielle Stewart to president of Everest Evolution.

Both appointments are effective 1 October.

Buonpane (pictured) will report to Jason Keen, executive vice president and CEO of Everest Global Wholesale and Specialty.

In the newly created role, he will lead Everest’s global construction business, with responsibility for underwriting strategy, market alignment and broker relationships across key markets.

Buonpane was appointed president of Everest Evolution in 2024.

He previously served as head of Everest’s casualty lines and industry practices business.

Before joining Everest, Buonpane held senior construction and casualty roles, including executive vice president, construction industry practice leader at Chubb.

Stewart will report to Lisa Davis, head of North America, wholesale and specialty.

She currently serves as chief operating officer of Everest Evolution and has played a central role in developing the platform since its launch in 2024.

In her new role, Stewart will lead Evolution’s continued development across the US wholesale market, overseeing underwriting, portfolio management, operations and distribution.

Stewart joined Everest in 2022 and was appointed chief operating officer of Everest Evolution in 2024.

She previously served as national head of wholesale distribution for Everest Insurance and held leadership roles at Liberty Mutual.

Keen said Stewart had played an important role in building Everest Evolution.

“Danielle has been instrumental in building Evolution into a differentiated wholesale platform.

“Her leadership, operational expertise and deep understanding of the market position her well to accelerate the business’s next phase of growth,” Keen added.
