Jago to keep role as north America chairman

Willis Re has appointed its president Paddy Jago as global chairman.

Jago will continue as north America chairman too. Willis Re north America president James Kent and global head of casualty Andrew Newman have become co-presidents to jointly take over Jago’s role. Kent and Newman will keep their old roles.

The reinsurance broker has also appointed Mark Hvidsten as deputy chairman, alongside current deputy chairman Chris Clark.

Willis Re global chief executive John Cavanagh said: “Paddy, Mark, James and Andrew are very strong market figures and they are role models for future Willis Re leaders. We are fortunate to have the depth of expertise and experience internally to fulfil these senior client-facing roles.”
