José María Navas will lead Aon’s claims organisation across EMEA, reporting to Luca Tassarotti
Aon has appointed José María Navas as chief claims officer for EMEA, effective immediately.

Navas (pictured) will lead the firm’s claims organisation across the region, overseeing strategy, advocacy and claims preparation capabilities.
He will report to Luca Tassarotti, head of commercial risk for EMEA at Aon.
Navas has nearly 25 years’ experience with Aon.
He most recently led claims in Spain, where he helped develop enhanced claims servicing capabilities for complex and large-scale losses.
Aon said he also strengthened insurer relationships and operational delivery during his tenure in Spain.
Tassarotti said: “José María’s appointment reflects our continued investment in delivering strong claims outcomes for clients across EMEA.
“His experience and leadership will advance how we support clients across the risk transfer lifecycle, helping them navigate complexity with greater confidence.”
As part of his remit, Navas will help further develop Aon’s claims capabilities across EMEA.
This will include the adoption of Aon Claims Copilot, the firm’s recently expanded global claims platform.
Aon said the platform combines claims data, analytics and digital claims management tools to support more consistent and insight-led outcomes for clients through the claims lifecycle.
Mona Barnes, global chief claims officer at Aon, said: “Claims is central to the value we deliver for clients.
“José María’s appointment reflects the strength of our internal talent pipeline and our focus on differentiating Aon through leading claims capabilities across Risk Capital, from placement through to resolution.”
Navas said: “I’m honored to step into this role and to work alongside our teams to continue enhancing the claims experience for our clients.
“Delivering strong outcomes when it matters most is central to the value we bring, and I look forward to building on that momentum,” she added.
