Moving from Aon to TFP, senior hire to deepen broker partnerships and support global growth strategy

The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) has appointed Marcus Taylor as head of strategic relationships, as it looks to strengthen broker engagement and support expansion across key international markets.

Taylor (pictured) joins from Aon, where he was a reinsurance broker in its global re-specialty division, bringing more than 25 years of experience across US, UK and APAC markets.

He has also held senior roles at IAG, including CEO of its reinsurance operations in Singapore and Malaysia, and previously served as head of reinsurance for Asia Pacific at Ed Broking.

Based in London, Taylor will report to Richard Coulson, group president for strategic partnerships, and will work closely with him to execute the firm’s broker strategy.

His remit includes deepening relationships with key distribution partners and supporting growth across high-priority markets including Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

He will also collaborate across Fidelis’s Pine Walk MGA platform to strengthen engagement between underwriters and external partners.

Coulson said the appointment reinforces the firm’s focus on partnership-led growth.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Marcus to the business,” he said.

“His extensive broker relationships and multi-decade experience across international reinsurance markets will prove highly valuable as we continue to reinforce TFP’s market position across all classes and geographies in which we operate,” Coulson continued.

“Close collaboration with external partners is a cornerstone of our success in meeting urgent and evolving market demands with innovative insurance solutions, and Marcus will help us to grow and enhance those distribution partnerships across TFP and Pine Walk,” he added.

Taylor said the move comes at a period of strong momentum for the business.

“I’m delighted to be joining TFP and excited to support its international strategic ambitions at a time of outstanding growth and momentum for the business,” he said.

“Having worked across the entire (re)insurance value chain, I have experienced first-hand the critical value of strong external partnerships to the successful execution of underwriting strategy,” Taylor continued.

“To bring this experience to TFP, with its exceptional reputation for underwriting leadership and creativity, was a unique opportunity, and I am looking forward to collaborating closely with the outstanding underwriters across both TFP and Pine Walk,” he added.
