Reinsurance Group of America has appointed Senan O’Loughlin as executive vice president, head of the Americas, effective 22 June.
O’Loughlin (pictured) will also join RGA’s executive committee, the reinsurer announced.
In his new role, he will lead RGA’s Americas business, with responsibility for strategic growth, market leadership and financial performance across the region.
He will oversee strategy and operations across the Americas, including capital deployment, client partnerships and product innovation.
O’Loughlin will report to Ron Herrmann, chief commercial officer, executive vice president, Americas and EMEA, at RGA.
Herrmann said: “Senan is a highly respected leader with deep industry expertise and a strong track record of delivering results.
“Since joining RGA, he has played an important role in advancing our US Individual Markets business and strengthening our client relationships.
“We are confident that Senan’s leadership, strategic vision, and global perspective will continue to drive growth and innovation across the Americas region.”
O’Loughlin joined RGA in 2021 and most recently served as executive vice president, head of US individual markets.
Before that he was Swiss Re’s head of US sales and client engagement.
RGA said he brings more than 30 years of global experience across the re/insurance industry, including previous roles at Aviva, AIG and AIA.
The appointment places O’Loughlin in charge of one of RGA’s key regional businesses as the life and health reinsurer continues to focus on growth, client relationships and product development across the Americas.
