John Fletcher joins the reinsurance broker, previously at Guy Carpenter, where he led its Bermuda operations since 2018
Willis Re has appointed John Fletcher as CEO of Willis Re Bermuda, effective immediately.
Fletcher (pictured) will lead Willis Re’s Bermuda platform, with responsibility for business growth and the continued development of its local team.
He will also oversee the execution and implementation of strategic plans aligned with the reinsurance broker’s wider objectives.
Willis Re said Fletcher will oversee operational activities and ensure the Bermuda business remains agile and responsive to changing market conditions.
Fletcher has more than 35 years’ experience across the reinsurance and retrocession sectors.
The broker said he is one of Bermuda’s most experienced reinsurance practitioners, with expertise in delivering customised reinsurance solutions and long-standing relationships with clients and market participants.
He joins Willis Re from Guy Carpenter, where he was most recently CEO of Bermuda.
Fletcher had led rival reinsurance intermediary Guy Carpenter’s operations on the island since 2018.
He originally relocated to Bermuda in 2013 to head Guy Carpenter’s property retrocession team.
